The wizards at ADI are always brewing up new approaches to old problems, with spectacular results. Here a a few of the new technologies you’ll find implemented in ADI products:
XBL™ - XBL is our patented motor linearity solution (US Patent 7,039,213). XBL combines multiple magnetic gaps with one or more voice coils to yield the flattest, most extended BL curve of any motor design. This proven technology is usable in any size transducer, and will provide measurable increases in output with a simultaneous reduction in distortion.
CuAl™ - A new approach to how to linearize the inductance in a speaker. It’s a little understood reality that having too many Faraday rings is more harmful than none. CuAl is our technique of blending different materials in different locations in the magnetic circuit to greatly linearize inductance over position, frequency, AND power.
RevSurround™ - A patent-pending surround design with measurable reductions in distortion. The RevSurround design ensures that the forces AND acoustical termination of the cone is as consistent as possible over all positions. Termination impedance, losses, and reflections are consistent, meaning that the effect is highly linear, and thus easily addressed by the system designer.
Arachnid™ Suspension - The highest stroke suspension on the face of the earth. One suspension element with a 77mm ID and a 200mm OD provided a measured 141mm one way linear excursion- with less than 5% change in stiffness! This approach also eliminates the need for tinsel leads, a critical concern with all high excursion design. Suitable for any high-excursion woofer on the market.
